Amazed

I am amazed at how many people don't know how hormonal birth control works.

Are people naive on purpose so that they can just keep on doing what they want and feign ignorance, or do they truly not know? Or do they know and not care?

I'm not sure why anyone would take a medication without reading up on it first, but they do.

Facts from WebMD:

Birth control hormones prevent pregnancy in three ways. They stop the ovaries from releasing an egg each month (ovulation). They also thicken the mucus in the cervix. This makes it hard for sperm to travel into the uterus. And birth control hormones change the lining of the uterus, which makes it harder for a fertilized egg to attach to it.

Catch that last part?

And what about iuds? Now, it's beyond me why anyone would think having a foreign object inside of themselves is a good idea at all, but again, they do.

How iuds work from WebMD:

Some IUDs contain copper, which is slowly released into the uterine cavity. The copper stops the sperm from making it through the vagina and uterus to reach the egg, thus preventing fertilization.
Some IUDs, such as Mirena, release the hormone progestin, which causes the cervical mucus to become thicker so the sperm cannot reach the egg. The hormone also changes the lining of the uterus, so implantation of a fertilized egg cannot occur.

The side effects of any of these should be scary enough.

I also recently had a conversation in which no one even bothered to understand what I was saying and instead decided I was just being rude. I was trying to show people what the contraceptive mentality has done to society and that people don't get it and that things won't change until they do.

I offered these links to support my case:

Also, I know this is getting lengthy, but the vile and hateful things that are being said now about the Duggars who just found out their 19 week baby is dead and she now has to carry him or her until the miscarriage happens naturally, disgust me. (but don't shock me one bit.) My heart breaks for that wonderful family.

But I guess another dead baby is just another reason to rejoice for this sick society.
