7 Quick Takes

--- 1 ---

It is my oldest daughter's last day of Kindergarten today! I am so proud of my big girl. It has been a struggle, but we made it through. She is brilliant. We got to see her awards ceremony today and school. They sang songs and then the teacher gave a little blurb about each kid. It was precious.

Since I've been in the pro-life movement for about 12 years now, I am getting pretty used to persecution. But it always comes back to this bible verse for me:

Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. -Matthew 5:10

So, I'd like to thank the people that feel the need to abuse and mock me. Because it solidifies my belief that I am doing what is right.

Here's an amusing post about the gay "marriage" debate by Bad Catholic: http://www.patheos.com/blogs/badcatholic/2012/05/4-ways-the-gay-marriage-debate-has-been-rigged.html

I will be praying tonight that some day people will wake up and see what is important in this world. And that some day children of this world will be treated with the respect they deserve.

Happy weekend! And beginning of summer break for many!

  3. Here's a verse I really like because it's just "Wow" for me. It's in Acts 5, after the Apostles were on trial and Gamaliel talked to them.

Acts 5:41 - "Then they went out from the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to be dishonored on behalf of the name."

It just makes me go whoa every time. "...counted worthy to be dishonored on behalf of the name." Wow. Worthy to be dishonored. Instead of whining about being on trial and flogged, they were rejoicing. Flogging didn't exactly tickle and they rejoiced.

    1. Love that, Phronsie. It's truth. We should be thankful for it. It means we are doing the work of the Lord. No good deed goes unpunished.

    2. 1. You had a visitor from Pendleton, Oregon. I've been there!

      2. Yup yup. It's sure not fun going through it though.

  4. Man, we're all on top of things this week. The world must be coming to an end or something...

First off: #1 - Yay! Congrats to your big girl! :-)

Secondly: #2 - Right there with you. It's hard to remember to be thankful, but every time someone responds to me like what you dealt with this week, I remember: Satan gets REALLY pissed off when we do what God asks us to do. The evil one HATES the Truth. We're doing something right when he starts to throw out the big punches.

Thirdly: I love #3, but you know that already.

Lastly: I think #6 is my new favourite picture EVER. It totally helps me rationalize my daily coffee intake. :-)

    Love you!
