7 Quick Takes

Hosted at Clan Donaldson today!

Wellll, welll, welllll, I tend to get the most traffic on Fridays, so I won't miss this chance to brain vomit all over you all. Please, someone comment so I don't feel like I'm talking to myself!

ALL of my major errands for the trip are done. DONE! Now it's time to wait. Peacefully. JUST KIDDING! I have 200 things to do. I need to get the house cleaned up for our party on Sunday. Samuel is being baptized and we're also celebrating Tessa's birthday. I also have to do an all about me project with Lily, get both big girls ready for All Saints' Day, and Halloween. Then finish packing... Among the other normal day to day stuff, I feel a little like a chicken with my head cut off...

Have I ever mentioned on this blog that I've never been out of the country? Except for that one time that I went to Tijuana for a couple hours when I was 18. It was scary and I don't recommend it. SO! I have waited my whole life to leave the United States for an adventure, and I'm pretty sure this is going to be the biggest adventure anyone could have thought of...

Hubby insists he will ask the flight attendant to move his seat to the other side of the plane from me. Since I can't sleep in planes, and I'm sure to be a little obnoxious, I don't blame him. But, too bad sucker, you're stuck with me and my UNO game! Muahaha!!

The temperature change is going to be refreshing. It is still hitting 80-90 degrees on a regular basis here, and it's full on autumn over there. I can't wait to see all the fall leaves and actually be cool. We don't have fall here, really.

We bought 2nd hand costumes for Halloween yesterday. The girls happened to find 2 costumes that were exactly the same, just different sizes. We had no clue what they were, but they wanted them. Fire princess? Pumpkin fairy? Sunflower? Nope, I got home and googled and they are goldfish costumes. LOL!

If anyone has recommendations on things to watch on Netflix, I'm game. I will have a lot of spare time soon. :)

Happy weekend!

  1. Good luck with the flights to and from Europe. Make sure you get up and walk around the cabin several times. Your post-partum body is not quite back to normal and you don't want to encourage a DVT from forming in your legs.

I've been following your adoption story and gave a bit of money during your early fundraisers, so I'll be looking forward to your posts from Europe.

    1. Thank you, Priscilla! I will definitely be trying to walk as much as possible. We appreciate the support!

  2. We were also told when we were going overseas that you want to drink a lot of water and no alcohol at all, in order to reduce jet lag.

    The costumes are adorable!

Hmmm, Netflix. Have you been through Downton Abbey season 1 yet? :)

    1. Yeah, I'm completely caught up on Downton :(

I won't be drinking alcohol, since I'm nursing. :) and I have some propel packets to put in water to help keep me hydrated.

  3. You're going to love the weather over there. It's still 80-90 here most days, too.

  4. Have you ever watched Monk? All of the seasons are on Netflix and it's one of my favorite shows ever. Also, "Clean House" is fun reality-type show.

  5. According to the weather I looked at it's going to be 40s/50s. You better have a camera or something so you can take pictures!

    1. I'll probably be using my phone. I can't find my camera and I don't feel like looking for it. Lol

    2. Eh. Works well enough! You can get some pretty impressive pictures with phone cameras. :)

  6. Call the Midwife and Bomb Girls are both good
    Enjoy the adventure!
